Shoulder pain (relating common conditions to signs)

• subacromial bursitis - pain and restriction of active shoulder abduction
  
• supraspinatus tendinitis - results in painful arc
  
• strained acromioclavicular joint - pain and restriction of active shoulder abduction
  
• frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) - prominent restriction of external rotation of the shoulder joint; more than internal rotation or abduction
  
• infraspinatus tendinitis - pain on resisted shoulder external rotation
  
• subscapularis tendinitis - pain on resisted shoulder internal rotation
  
• bicipital tendinitis - pain on resisted elbow flexion
