Metabolic causes
The metabolic causes of coma include:
- hypoglycaemia: have features of tachycardia, sweats and fits
- hyperglycaemia: less often comatosed and have features of dehydration and air hunger
- ketoacidosis
- renal failure: uraemia
- hepatic failure
- hypernatraemia
- hypoadrenalism
- hypothyroidism
