Absent ankle jerks and upgoing plantars
Possible causes include:
- subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord
- motor neurone disease
- syphilis (taboparesis)
- combined conus medullaris and cauda equina lesions
- Friedreich's ataxia
- combination of common problems e.g. diabetic peripheral neuropathy and cervical spondylosis
