Gait in frontal lesions

Authoring team

In patients with frontal lesions there may be marked unsteadiness in walking, with the feet behaving as if they are glued to the floor. This causes a wide-based, shuffling gait.

This may be contrasted to when the patient is supine - the feet move more easily.
