Myotomes

A myotome is a group of muscles innervated by a specific spinal segment. Some important myotomes are:

  • C6 - biceps, brachioradialis, radial extensors of the wrist
  • C7 - triceps, ulnar extensors of wrist, finger extensors
  • C8 - finger flexors
  • L4 - quadriceps femoris
  • L5 - extensor hallucis longus
  • S1 - plantar flexors
