Clinical features
The most striking feature of sporadic CJD is the rapidity of the neurological deterioration; the patient may go from normality to death in months.
The main findings are:
- progressive dementia
- progressive ataxia
- progressive rigidity and myoclonus
- finally, akinetic mutism and death
