Late bony distraction
After the sequence of operations in early childhood which may include soft tissue distraction, centralization/radialization and pollicization, there may still be a substantial deficiency in the length of the forearm. It is possible to attempt late bony distraction of the limb - typically at the age of 8-10 years - to gain several centimeters of additional length with some degree of axial correction if required.
