Aetiology
- sucking of finger or dummy resulting in forward displacement of upper anterior teeth.
- dental crowding e.g. if there is a small jaw in conditions such as Pierre-Robin syndrome.
- premature extraction of carious primary teeth.
- familial - misalignment of upper and lower dental arches
