Coenzyme A
Coenzyme A is a coenzyme consisting of:
- adenosine-3,5-biphosphate
- phosphate
- pantothenic acid
- a terminal thioethanolamine group
The terminal group is important as an acceptor and donator of acyl groups. The prime example is acetyl coenzyme A, an intermediate in a number of key pathways.
