Duodenum (protein digestion)

Authoring team

Protein digestion in the duodenum is largely the result of the secretion of pancreatic enzymes:

  • trypsin
  • chymotrypsin
  • elastase
  • carboxypeptidase

All are endopeptidases except carboxypeptidase which is an exopeptidase.
