Complications
Complications can be divided into maternal and fetal:- Maternal:
- prolonged labour
- premature labour
- increased risk of traumatic damage
- increased risk of shoulder dystocia Fetal:
- foetal distress and birth asphyxia
- brachial plexus injuries
- cephalhaematoma, resulting in more pronounced neonatal jaundice
