Vertex
This is the area of the fetal skull that is bounded by the anterior fontanelle (coronal suture), parietal eminences and the posterior fontanelle (lamboidal sutures).
The vertex is the part of the fetal head which negotiates the birth canal when the demoninator is the occiput and there is flexion of the head.
