S1 damage
Motor signs: some loss of power of the gluteus maximus and of plantar flexion of the foot may be detectable.
Sensory signs: blunting of sensation extending down the postero-lateral aspect of the shin to the dorsal and plantar surfaces of the outer aspect of the foot may be detectable.
Reflexes: there may be loss of the ankle jerk.
