Depressive disorder in childhood
Childhood depression is a common response to some of the greater stressors of childhood such as bereavement.
The depressive disorder should be distinguished from depressive symptoms occurring as a component of emotional or conduct disorder.
Bipolar depressive disorder is not seen before puberty.
