Psychogenic blindness and deafness

Psychogenic blindness has a variable presentation, with tunneling of vision or various patterns of field defect. Psychogenic deafness may have a similar presentation.

There may be other evidence that the patient can see or hear such as the avoidance of furniture, or the startle reaction. Brain stem evoked potentials are normal.
