Management of disturbed behaviour in primary care
- try obtain information in advance from relatives and any available medical records
- make a calm impression
- listen quietly to the patient
- assess the possibility of an organic cause
- explain and discuss any proposed plans to the patient and relatives
- the patient's mental state may change very quickly and so do not be deceived into inappropriate inaction
