Pathological drunkenness is an acute psychotic state that is induced by the consumption of a relatively small amount of alcohol, and not accompanied by signs of neurological intoxication. It is an alcohol related disorder related to alcohol intoxication.

This condition is viewed as an individual's idiosyncratic response to alcohol consumption.
