Post-renal causes of post operative renal failure
Postrenal causes include:
- blocked catheter - an important cause of failure to pass urine on the wards
- obstruction - stones
- cut / tied ureters - gynaecological surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm
- retention - prostate
