  • Raynaud's phenomenon
  • onset of skin involvement within 1 year of Raynaud's
  • truncal and acral skin involvement
  • tendon friction rubs
  • interstitial lung disease
  • renal failure
  • nailfold telangiectasia

Immunological investigation may reveal:

  • anti-topoisomerase-I antibody
