Treatment of renal and postrenal failure
If the renal failure is due to renal or postrenal causes then the respective cause should be treated. If it is not possible to treat the cause immediately then the acute management of these patients involves the restoration of normal fluid and electrolyte balance and the control of acidosis and uraemia.
