Renal congenital malformations
Congenital abnormalities in the renal system are the result of the disruption of organogenesis during the fourth to the seventh weeks of pregnancy.
The overall frequency of renal and urinary tract malformations is four in every thousand births.
Congenital abnormalities of the renal system include:
- horseshoe kidney
- bladder extrophy
- renal agenesis
- renal polycystic disease
- renal hypoplasia and dysplasia
- obstructive uropathy
