Complications
Possible complications of urethral stricture include:
- chordee - scarring of the distal urethra causes it to be contracted longitudinally so that the penis is bent on erection
- paraurethral abscess - infection of distended paraurethral glands
- fistulae - abscess may burst through the skin
- urethral stones
- obstructed ejaculation
- urethral squamous metaplasia and subsequent carcinoma
- bladder outlet obstruction and it's effects
