Raised 2,3 DPG
A raised 2,3 DPG occurs under conditions of relatively increased anaerobic respiration; ie hypoxia. It is also increased by chronic anaemia.
It has the effect of shifting the oxygen haemoglobin curve to the right, thus causing oxygen dissociation.
