Typically, this is a disease which presents two weeks after a course of a drug (1). Causes include:

  • synthetic antibiotics e.g. meticillin, rifampicin
  • diuretics e.g. frusemide


  • Grand Round - nephrotoxicity of non-steroidal anti - inflammatory drugs, The Lancet (1994), 344, 515-8.
