Axillary lymph nodes (central)
The central axillary lymph nodes:
- 3-5 nodes in this group
- tend to be relatively large compared to other axillary nodes
- location:
- base of axilla
- deep to the lateral margin of pectoralis minor
- around axillary artery
- drains from other axillary nodes e.g. pectoral, lateral, subscapular
- drains to apical axillary nodes
