Cationic proteins
Cationic proteins are proteins contained with lysosomes of neutrophils. They produce a range of effects during inflammation:
- cause degranulation of mast cells with histamine release
- increase vascular permeability directly
- promote chemotaxis of neutrophils
- inhibit movement of neutrophils and eosinophils
