Granuloma inguinale
This is a tropically acquired sexually transmitted disease caused by Calymmatobacterium granulomatis.
It is a painless condition characterised by lesions in the genital and inguinal creases. These start as red papules and develope into granulomatous ulcers.
Diagnosis is by histology of biopsy for typical Donovan bodies.
Treatment is with tetracycline.
