Circumferential burn
- is present when the entire circumference of a limb (or the trunk, neck, or digits) is burned
- inelastic burned skin has potential to constrict the underlying tissues
- especially if tissue oedema progresses, leading to tissue necrosis
- especially if tissue oedema progresses, leading to tissue necrosis
- all circumferential burns should be discussed with a burns service urgently (1)
