Clinical features
Clinical diagnosis of a scaphoid fracture may be difficult as there is no deformity, bruising or crepitus around the fracture.
Suggestive features include:
- swelling and localised tenderness of the anatomical snuffbox
- pain on dorsiflexion of the wrist
- pain and weakness of grip
