Management in general practice
These patients can usually be treated at home, although the response to treatment must be assessed before the patient is left.
Management consists of:
- treatment with nebulised beta agonist
- monitoring response to treatment
- further treatment depending on improvement in peak flow
- follow up
- consider indications for lower threshold for hospital admission
