Burns (criteria for admission)
- extent: 15% burns in adults and 10% burns in children
- i.v. treatment required
- pain severe
- site: hand, face, joint and perineum burns
- depth: full thickness burns
- cylindrical burns: a significant proportion of the circumference around the neck, chest or a limb
- complications: such as smoke inhalation, electrical burns or non-accidental injury
