Dependent
Dependent is a term used to describe a process which appears to be affected by gravity. Thus, oedema which affects the ankles only, but which dissappears if the ankles are raised for a period of time is said to be dependent.
This may also apply to some rashes; classically the rash of Henoch Schonlein purpura.
