Endometrial resection (hystersteroscopic)

Endometrial resection has been compared to a traditional hysterectomy. The advantages of endometrial resection are:

  • fewer complications
  • patients get better faster
  • patients go home sooner and usually back at work in two weeks compared with 11 weeks after hysterectomy.

The main problem was that total amenorrhoea was not achieved in 36% of cases.
