In this condition Corynebacteria infection causes macerated skin over the pressure areas of the foot.
Clinical features:
- characteristic pits and maceration
- smell of rotten fish
- this condition is more common in young men who wear training shoes
Management:
- breathable footwear
- topical fusidic acid
- occasionally oral antibiotic e.g. erythromycin
