Rheumatoid aortitis is a disease occurring in a small number of men with arthritis of the spine - rheumatoid spondylitis.
Rheumatoid aortitis is a true panarteritis. Histologically there is necrosis and fibrosis of the media, obliteration of the vasa vasorum and intimal thickening.
