Nutritional consequences of vegetarianism
A planned and varied vegetarian diet should provide all the nutrients required to lead a healthy life. The exception is the lack of vitamins D and B12 which cannot be provided by plant food and should be supplemented.
A fruitarian diet is the most likely to be nutritionally inadequate and potentially dangerous.
