Management of urinary incontinence
- treat any identifiable cause e.g. UTI, benign prostatic hypertrophy
- consider drug therapy for detrusor instability
- consider urinary continence aids such as Kanga pants - an absorbent pad made from a one-way repellent fabric that is held in the patient's pants
- consider geography - is the patient's bed close enough to their toilet
- consider other help e.g. laundry service, district nurse
