Orchitis
Orchitis is inflammation of the testis.
Acute orchitis is usually viral. Presentation is with a painful, swollen testis.
Chronic orchitis may follow:
- trauma or surgery involving the spermatic cord
- tertiary syphilis - now rare in the UK
Presentation is with diffuse, non-tender testicular enlargement.
