Clinical features
Presentation is with a progressive diminution in urine flow, frequently accompanied by other features of bladder outflow obstruction. Spraying or a forking of the urinary stream may be experienced.
In the history, inquire about previous trauma, infection or urethral instrumentation.
Physical examination should include:
- careful inspection of the external urethral meatus, with foreskin retracted
- palpation along the length of the urethra, for areas of fibrosis in the corpus spongiosum
