This includes:

  • irritant dermatitis - weeping, erythematous lesions confined to nappy area; body folds spared

  • seborrhoeic dermatitis - erythema and scaling of nappy area; often with lesions of scalp, face and axillae

  • candidiasis - macerated, erythematous lesions; pustulation and satellite lesions adjacent to nappy area

  • dermatophyte infections

  • intertrigo (1)
