Common side-effects include:

  • nausea and vomiting
  • myelosuppression
  • alopecia
  • mucositis

With increasing cumulative doses there is increasing risk of cardiomyopathy. The maximum dose of doxorubicin is typically 450 mg/m^2 body surface.
