Congenital coagulation disorders usually affect a single clotting factor. They are less common than acquired forms.

More common types include:

  • Haemophilia A - factor VIII - 90% of inherited causes
  • von Willebrands
  • Haemophilia B - factor IX
  • Factor XI deficiency

Rare types:

  • fibrin-stabilising factor deficiency - Factor XIII
  • afibrinogenaemia
