Liver cell adenoma is an uncommon benign liver tumour which is associated with the use of oral contraceptive pills with a high oestrogen content. As the dose of oestrogens in the OCP has reduce so has the incidence of liver cell adenoma.
The presenting complaint is usually pain, from:
- expansion of the liver capsule
- haemorrhage into the tumour
- infarction The patient may also have a sense of fullness in the abdomen.
