Typical features of septicaemic shock include:

  • profound and prolonged hypotension
  • fever or hypothermia
  • acidosis
  • tachycardia
  • hypoxia - which may also cause confusion

There may also be associated adult respiratory distress, disseminated intravascular coagulation and acute renal failure.
