Lumbar spondylolisthesis

Lumbar spondylolisthesis is the spontaneous displacement of a lumbar vertebral body upon the segment next below it; it is usually a forwards movement but may be backwards.

Most commonly, it involves L5 slipping forwards on S1; less frequently, L4 upon L5.
