These are unsubstantiated, irrational beliefs that a person is being unfaithful. Such delusions are often followed by attempts to find evidence to substantiate these beliefs.

The patient is not satisfied until evidence is obtained, and particularly dangerous situations involving violence towards the partner may arise.

This is the central delusion in the Othello syndrome.
