This is a non-ulcerative form of duodenal inflammation.
Endoscopic examination reveals widespread reddening of the mucosa.
It is often seen in patients suspected of having duodenal ulceration. In the absence of alternative evidence we consider 'erosive' duodenitis to be part of the spectrum of duodenal ulcer and advise treatment as in this condition (1).
