Triose phosphate isomerase is an enzyme in the glycolytic pathway that converts dihydroacetone phosphate into glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate; it is also used to modify glycerol intermediates moving to and from glycolysis.
The reverse reaction occurs in gluconeogenesis.
