A dose regimen for bromocriptine is given below:

  • first week 1-1.25 mg nocte
  • second week 2-2.5 mg nocte
  • third week 2.5 mg bd
  • then 2.5 mg tds increasing by 2.5 mg every 3-14 days to a usual therapeutic dose of 10-40 mg/day
