Symptomatic support may be sufficient in most cases.

Treatments include:

  • localised lesions may be treated with curettage
  • prednisolone - topical injection or systemically
  • vinblastine plus or minus etoposide for severe disease
  • other chemotherapeutic treatments may be used

Prognosis depends on:

  • the extent of the disease
  • the functional compromise of organ systems

The majority remit after a chronic relapsing course.
